| - | 9.10 | Approval of Use of Remaining 2009 Refunding Bonds (Stahly) |
The Refunding Bond Issue of 2008, which was used to pay for the energy conservation projects at GHS and GMS will have approximately $50,000 remaining after the construction contractor is fully paid. Previously some of these remaining funds were used to purchase used maintenance vehicles to replace maintenance vehicles that were much older and with potential significant repairs needing to be done. The School Board could use some of these remaining funds to build a band storage garage on the property south of the band practice field. Our Building Trades class could build this facility and begin on it within the month. It is recommended that the School Corporation designate up to $20,000 of these funds to build this storage facility and use these funds for construction. Since the present band storage building could then be used as an athletic storage area, the athletic department is willing to contribute $10,000 for this project. If the project exceeds $30,000 then this item would be brought back to the Board as a “change order” for any additional designation of these funds.
